The portable residual chlorine anlayzer has been calibrated before delivery. Users can directly determine samples by the following methods
1. Turn on the power supply of the instrument.
2. On the instrument, press the arrow key to select the function of "select curve", and confirm that the sequence number needed is selected by using the up and down arrow keys (curve 001 is 0.02-2.00mg/L, curve 002 is 2.00-10.00mg/L), and confirm by the "TNTER" key.
3. Blank and sample preparation
3.1 Preparation of blank sample
Pick 25.0 mL distilled water up and put into a special colorimetric tube for cleaning and testing on the computer.
3.2 Preparation of samples
Take 25.0mL sample clarification solution and put it in a special colorimetric tube for cleaning. Add 1.25ml residual chlorine reagent [Note: When the drinking water is below 0.2mg/L or the water sample is alkaline (1.25mL reagent is green), add 2ml residual chlorine reagent] and shake well. It needs to be tested within 1 minute. (If total residual chlorine is measured, colorimetric analysis will take 10 minutes)
4.Clean the outer wall of the blank colorimeter, align the vertical line on the colorimeter with the line 1 on the colorimeter, put it into the colorimetric hole, select the "blank measurement" option, press the "ENTER" button, press the "ENTER" button when the absorbance value is stable, and the instrument automatically adjusts zero.
5.Clean the outer wall of the sample colorimeter to be measured, put the vertical line on the colorimeter into the colorimetric hole, select the "sample measurement" option, press the "ENTER" button, the instrument shows the residual chlorine (or total residual chlorine) value (mg/L) of the sample, and press the "confirmation" button, then value is stored in the instrument.

IIV Make Up The Reagent
Unless other instruction, the reagents used in this method are analytical grade, water should be distilled water or equivalent pure water. The instrument is calibrated to working curve, the standard solution can be dispensed.
1. Chlorine free water (prepared according to GB7479-87) or fresh distilled water
2. Residual chlorine standard solution: Weigh 0.1550 g of potassium dichromate dried to constant weight at 120 °C and 0.4650 g of potassium chromate dried at 120 °C, dissolved in potassium chloride-hydrochloric acid buffer solution, and diluted. Up to 100mL. This solution is equivalent to 10 mg/L of residual chlorine.
3. Potassium chloride-hydrochloric acid buffer solution: Weigh 3.7 g of potassium chloride dried to constant weight at 100-110 °C, dissolve with pure water, add 0.56 mL of hydrochloric acid (equivalent to 1.19 g/mL), and use pure water. Dilute to 1 L
4. Residual chlorine reagent: Randomly distributed, stored at 2-4 °C.
(VV) Operation steps:
(1)  Sample Testing
Pipette 25mL of distilled water (blank) or sample clear liquid into the two cleaned special colorimetric tubes, pipette 1.25mL of residual chlorine reagent sample tube, cover and shake. And colorimetric within 1min. If test total residual chlorine, the color is measured after 10 minutes.
(2). Calibrate Curve
Curve 001(0~2mg/L): Retain the residual chlorine standard (2mg/L) 0, 2.50, 6.25, 12.50, 25.00mL in 5 dedicated colorimetric tubes, and make up to 25ml with chlorine-free water (corresponding residual chlorine values: 0, 0.20, 0.50, 1.00, 2.00mg / L), cover and shake on the instrument for curve calibration.
Curve 002 (2 ~ 10mg / L):
First, absorb the residual chlorine standard (10mg/L) 0, 5.00, 12.50, 20.00, 25.00mL in 5 dedicated colorimetric tubes, and make up to 25ml with chlorine-free water (corresponding residual chlorine values: 0, 2.00, 5.00 , 8.00, 10.00mg / L), cover and shake on the instrument for curve calibration.
IVV. Attention
1. Under normal circumstances, the correlation coefficient r of the standard curve should be above 0.990. If the r value of the standard curve is less than 0.990, it indicates that there is a problem with the standard preparation or the colorimetric operation is not standardized. It should be carefully analyzed and excluded one by one.
2. In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement, the tube and cover of the digestion tube should be fixed and marked with the serial number.
3. Since the cover of the colorimetric tube is a threaded tooth, it is necessary to rinse it with a large amount of water to ensure cleanliness, so as not to affect the measurement result.
4. The colorimetric tube must be kept clean during color comparison. Avoid touching the light-transmissive surface with the hand. Before the colorimetric tube is placed in the colorimetric hole, if there is a solution hanging on the outer wall of the tube, wipe it with a soft cloth to avoid zero drift and corrosion of the instrument.
5, the instrument should be placed in a dry and ventilated place, while avoiding direct sunlight. When not in use for a long time, the colorimetric tube should be wiped clean and placed outside the machine to ensure the inside of the machine to dry and protect the optical components.
6. If the light-transmitting part of the colorimetric tube is scratched, affecting the measurement result, it should be replaced in time.
